According to Nick, it is always a good idea to seek legal advice when dealing with subpoenas. “There may be internal policies and procedures that you don’t want out there or sensitive information that could be damaging to the hospital if it were to be made public. That’s when you need a tactical assessment to determine if it’s in the hospital’s best interest to fight it,” says Nick.
